Pat Robertson on Haiti Earthquake: He Should be Ashamed

Pat Robertson, Evangelist to the ignorant and easily dupable, stated today on "The 700 Club", that the earthquake in Haiti is "God's vengeance upon the Haitians for making a deal with the devil to rid themselves of the French."

For the record, the French left Haiti in 1825. So, God thought about it for almost 200 years before he decided to kill the great-great-great-great-great-grandchildren of the sinners. Right.

Where do these idiots get their data from? World Book circa 1972? Wiki?

When will the good Christians of the world wake up and see these morons for what they are: Rich, Bigoted Idiots of the First Order, who like nothing better than to inflame and debase anyone not as "Pure" as themselves.

It is Robertson and his ilk (Falwell, Roberts, Swaggart, etc.) who claimed that Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for Homosexuality, that 9/11 was due to the legality of abortion and the U.S's moral decay. What a load of hogwash.

When will the religious right realize that Pat Robertson is neither? He should be ashamed of himself. He has some nerve to talk about deals with the devil. How does he think he got where he is today? God? Jesus? Oh please! Jesus would slap him upside the head if they were to meet, which isn't very likely in my book. Not now, not when he finally meets his demise.

My heart goes out to those in Haiti today.
