PRESS RELEASE



 

January 4, 2010

 

On Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 11:30 hours officers responded to 1430
West A in reference to a female who was unconscious.  Upon arrival of
emergency personnel, it was determine the individual was deceased.  The
female was identified as Stefanie Blackburn W/F 21 years of age.
Stephanie's hometown is St. Maries, Idaho.  She had previously attended
the University of Idaho but had not attended any classes during the fall
semester of 2009 or enrolled in the upcoming spring semester of 2010.

 

Preliminary investigation by detectives indicates the death was the
result of a respiratory arrest likely self-induced through a combination
of alcohol and drugs.  No foul play is suspected at this time.  Exact
cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner after
reviewing the results of toxicology reports.
