[Vision2020] Jon Stewart to Republicans: You Can't Exploit 9/11Anymore

I would like to ask a question. Please do not read more into it then is intended. This is a request for information and nothing more.

Don't the police and firefighters in NYC and the surrounding communities on Statten Island, New York state, as well as New Jersey belong to fairly strong unions for which health care is a negotiated benefit?

Aren't these same first responders also covered by the same workmens compensation packages and disability pensions that cover almost all other state and municipal employees?

Why are additional benefits due these workers beyond what they already have available? What is it that I am missing?
