PRESS RELEASE



The Moscow Police Department, in conjunction with law enforcement agencies throughout Idaho and Washington are increasing patrols directed at reducing the number of impaired drivers this holiday season.

The Moscow Police Department will be participating in patrols directed at the enforcement of the state's impaired driving laws from December 17th to January 3rd. Directed patrols dedicated to decreasing impaired driving often yield violations other than the ones targeted, including aggressive driving.

The goal of this project is to support the statewide highway safety goal of reducing motor vehicle related deaths and serious injuries as a result of impaired drivers by increasing law enforcement presence and increasing arrests of those impaired drivers.  Community residents deserve a safe holiday season free from the dangers of impaired and aggressive driving.  Help us in our combined efforts of "Toward Zero Deaths" as 2010 comes to a close.  Drive responsibly and report drunk drivers by calling (208) 882-COPS.
