While the media focus on the hacking of e-mails from the Climatic Research
Unit at East Anglia University received extensive and slanted hyperbolic
"yellow" journalism coverage, accompanied by widespread allegations on the
Internet that the e-mails revealed an international conspiracy among climate
scientists to fabricate faulty climate science, the conclusions of this
investigation, which exonerates the scientists and the climate science
associated with the Climatic Research Unit from these extreme charges, is
not receiving prominent and widespread media and Internet exposure.

This report from the United Kingdom's House of Commons is 61 pages long. I
recommend this report be studied in detail by anyone who believes that
the criminal computer hack of e-mails from the Climatic Research Unit of
East Anglia University undermines the conclusions of climate scientists in
many nations around the world that human impacts on climate are profound.

I offer a few important quotes below:

http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm200910/cmselect/cmsctech/387/387i.pdf

"The focus on Professor Jones and CRU has been largely misplaced. [...] The
scientific reputation of Professor Jones and CRU remains intact."

"Even if the data that CRU used were not publicly available-which they
mostly are-or the methods not published-which they have been-its published
results would still be credible: the results from CRU agree with those drawn
from other international data sets; in other words, the analyses have been
repeated and the conclusions have been verified."
