Actually raising chickens within the city limits is still legal in most 
US cities, even NYC.

It's a good thing and I highly encourage people to think about doing it 
along with their garden.  It's the "sustainable" thing to do, which is 
fortunately becoming trendy.

You should listen to Bucky Buckaws' Backyard Chicken Broadcast on 
Morning Mix on your community radio station: Radio Free Moscow (92.5 
FM).  I think it's on Mondays.
