[Vision2020] Question Concerning John Weber

Darrell,

I'm sorry, but your reasoning doesn't wash.

First, there is a lot of misleading/blatantly false information about me on the web, but none of it was placed there by me or is under my control to change. In addition, I am not running for a public office and asking to be entrusted with the business of the public.

The official information about candidate Weber on the Moscow city website is in error and is very misleading. This error was pointed out to Weber months ago as you can see from the emails twice posted in this thread.

This false biographical puffery (read: a lie) remains that way today as I compose this email.

http://www.moscow.id.us/council/MeetCouncil.asp

Note that this is Weber's official biography as a Moscow city councilperson, and it exists on the official Moscow city website. The content of this bio is totally under Weber's control. It was pointed out to him months ago that is was a lie. He is no longer a so-called project manager (and hasn't been for many months), but is a bartender.

Weber intentionally chooses not to redact these lies.

You can excuse it if you will, but I doubt that others who still expect the truth from public figures will be quite so forgiving, and also will not find it quite so insignificant, particularly in an election time. Added to this lie, are Weber's lies about the Hawkins project and other matters.

Whether the false, misleading information/puffery on Weber's election website until yesterday was an error or intentional puffery is an open question. After all, it was a very simply written entry on a very simply constructed webpage. It is hard to imagine a literate, diligent person making such an error on such an important matter to the voters. But perhaps the assumption about literacy and/or diligence is not well founded.

What is even more interesting about Weber's short tenure as a so-called "project manager" for Beebe is what he actually did during that tenure. It has been suggested by not a few well-positioned observers that Weber got this sinecure with Beebe because [1] he was on the city council, and [2] because he has such "flexible" ethics. In fact, Weber has been observed taking hand signals from Beebe at URA board meetings. More than one person has used the words "hand puppet" to characterize these interactions.

At least the crafty, dishonest, GMA financed and blessed Walter Steed is bright enough to take his instructions in private.

W.

  Wayne:

Please don't assume you know my political agenda. Rest assured that
you don't have a clue about it.

Liars and sneaks aren't okay with me. Outdated info on a city bio:
Don't see the big deal. I'll bet I could find outdated and inaccurate
info about you on the web, too.
