Re: City of Moscow Press Release
Date: October 28, 2009
For Immediate Release:
Parade Candy to be Handed Out - Not Thrown
Moscow, Idaho - The City of Moscow is excited for this week's University
of Idaho homecoming activities including the annual parade to be held on
Saturday, October 31st at 10 a.m. This event is fun and exciting for
our entire community.
The City does not in any way want to spoil the fun; however we also want
to maintain safety for all parade participants and those viewing the
parade, particularly children. Persons throwing candy or other items
from floats or other parade vehicles run the risk of having a child
approaching floats and vehicle to retrieve candy as this could result in
them being accidently run over by a vehicle. Floats and parade vehicles
often lack adequately visibility increasing the safety hazard. If you
are in the parade, do not throw candy or other items from the parade
vehicles. Please walk along the sidelines and hand out such items.
