Get licks in on fleeting sundae
College football: You can't call him the Flavor of the Month - or even the Flavor of the Week, exactly.

Dennis Erickson, who has done three tours on the Palouse as a head football coach - two at Idaho and one at Washington State - returns again Saturday with the Arizona State Sun Devils, the Cougars' 2 p.m. homecoming opponent at Martin Stadium. 

To commemorate that, Ferdinand's Ice Cream Shoppe on the WSU campus is offering a special on the "Dennis Erickson Sundae."

Well, sporadically offering.

"Here today, gone tomorrow," comes the explanation from Ferdinand's. "It's good, but you can't rely on it to be around for very long."
