[Vision2020] Fw: [Spam 5.44] Idaho's 36 congressional districts

Sam,

I'm surprised the Idaho "two centuries behind the times" Legislature even allows woman. I would think all those dinosaurs in there would vote for a law to keep women at home, not in the legislature. :P

Too bad Otter and the Speaker want to slash education even more.

Hopefully Rep. Ringo can keep throwing alternatives at them and maybe one will stick.

Your Friend,

Donovan Arnold

You are very right, Tom, I should have counted the "R's" and the "D's"
on the webpage with the thumbnail photos.

I expressed myself very inadequately in my previous posting.

What caught my interest was the repeated pair of numbers, 52-18,
both for R's and D's, and for Men and Women, in the Idaho House of
Representatives. 52-18 R's and D's, and 52-18 Men and Women!!!

So I took your prompt and did count the R's and the D's, by gender.

Now I have a new interesting count:

Women in the Idaho House of Representatives

    R = 7     D = 11

Men in the Idaho House of Representatives

    R = 45   D = 7

If the above pair of paired numbers represents
the political electivity of Idaho House candidates
then more Women Dems need to run for the House
to mollify the extreme dominance by R's, because
apparently the men who are Dems do not have the
inclination to run for the Idaho House and/or are
incapable of winning?  But can the women D's
win against men R's?

Or, maybe the pair of paired numbers, 52-18, above
are just spurious, odd numbers?

It's not the same for the Idaho Senate:

Women in the Idaho Senate

   R's = 5      D's  = 3

Men in the Idaho Senate

    R's = 23    D's =  4

So much for the numbers . . .

Oh; if we have 36 legislative districts,
then why are there only 35 Senators
listed on the website?

MoscowSam I am, leaving this oddity . . .

Now, Sam . . .

I am not speaking here with absolute total certainty, mind you, but I
strongly suspect that those representatives whose names are followed by
"(D)" could possibly, maybe, conceivably be democrats . . . and those
representatives whose names are followed by "(R)" are runaways from Devils
Island terminally infected with . . .

I certainly hope this helps.

I find this very odd; does anyone know if it is
correct?

The website claims there are 52 Republicans
and 18 Democrats,

AND

52 Men and 18 Women

Now which do you suppose are the R's and the D's?

    Mr. Falen -

    Realizing that the state of Idaho does not have 36 federal
    congressional
    districts, (and realizing that the state distributes stimulus funds
to
    each STATE congressional district), perhaps there are approximately
36
    STATE congressional districts.

    SHAZAM!

    There are 35 STATE congressional districts within the state of
Idaho.

    See for yourself . . .

    ----------------------

    Pop quiz!

    In which STATE congressional district is Moscow located?

    Who are the state representatives of this district?
    (Hint: You might find the "Beatles' drummer" if you stick to the
    "trail".)

    As the theme from Jeopardy gently plays in the background . . .
