[Vision2020] Pooh's Think

No, I can't think of a local leader who has gassed millions of innocent people.  I think, however, that most people would view such a person as utterly evil and despicable, unworthy of anything even approaching devotion, and certainly not a paragon of moral or religious virtue.  Anyone who thinks otherwise would be considered as debased as their leader and not worthy disseminators of religious instruction.

However, I can think of one who has done untold damage to the Gospel on the Palouse, precisely because he commands the loyalty, respect, and submission of hundreds of people in his churches while simultaneously alienating from Christ thousands more outside by his bullying, bigoted behavior.  He makes the Gospel look like him and his teachings and actions, and I'm as dismayed for the people who embrace that Gospel as I am for those who run from Christ because of him.  

Most of us are able to speak truth when error flourishes and still help the poor, care for the environment, minister to our neighbors, and generally live out the call of Christ.  I'm glad for Michael's efforts.

I think helping people is more important than exposing what we all ready know. 

And one must have a lot of time on one's hands to be able to get close to exposing all the unholy and bad things done in churches or by church leaders, as anything run by people is going to be flawed and crooked. If I was Satan, that would be my first line of attack, to corrupt church leaders with the worse temptations imaginable. 

I'm Catholic, so you know, I will never even live long enough to learn, nor do I want to even know, all the horrible things every leader of my Church has done or allowed to be done. Just not enough time. Nor does it produce anything. Even the current Pope use to be a Nazi youth and covered up the worst child molestation scandal know to humans. Can anyone come up with a local leader that has done something worse than that? 

Anyone? Anyone? Anyone at all.
