Gee -- I dunno Roger.  Personally, I think this should work *exactly* as
they did during the Bush years and during all the other presidencies when
we've footed the bill.  If you disagree, then you have to explain why you
think a double-standard is warranted particularly when we've got president
who this early in his term has already attempted far, far more
bi-partisanship than did Bush 43 during his entire disastrous tenure as
president.

Absent reason for the double-standard, you are just showing your extreme
hypocrisy & partisanship.

Why, Roger, are you so afraid of the President communicating with
we-the-people?  Why have you never expressed this concern with other
presidents?

Oh -- wait  . . . I get it  :-)  Two paragraphs up  :-)
