Roger,

So you think that anytime anyone calls in and says "I think I saw  
someone breaking into the house at xyz main st " the police have a  
right to burst in and abuse who ever is in there?
You don't think IF that was the standard, police agencies would use  
that as an excuse to get into places rather than a warrant?  REMEMBER,  
anything a police officer sees inside, IF they are legally there is  
admissible in court.
What happened to a reasonable expectation of privacy? You now need ID  
when you're in your own house just to keep the police out ?

And in this particular case, once the owners ID was shown, the  
policeman should have gotten the hell OUT.
