For Immediate Release:

Snow Load Reaching Dangerous Level

Moscow, Idaho, January 5, 2009 - URGENT - The City of Moscow Community
Development Department has estimated the current snow load weight as of
January 5, 2008 at 26 pounds per square foot. This is significant as
the roofs of older homes are rated to withstand 30 pounds per square
foot, and the current snow load weight is now over the limit of 25
pounds per square foot for manufactured homes.

Given the current snow load and forecasted rain those snow loads weights
may increase quickly. Flat or low slope roofs especially, should have
snow removed.

For more information, please call the City of Moscow Building Official
Carol Alexander at 883-7022.
