Really? Near as I can tell from the reading I have done the Muslims gave pretty much as good as they got during much of what is considered to have been the crusades. Is it now your argument that an immature and unevolved faithful is still fighting this conflict and that even though not a single crusade was launched out of North America, we somehow bear responsibility for western European actions that occurred before our nation was born? I've got to tell you it seems to me that an awful lot of effort is being expended to set The United States up as the evil aggressor bad guy and to give those poor misunderstood militant Islamists a bye.

I'm sorry, Gary, I consider you a smart guy, but that seems to me both

Yes, militant Islam and wahabism are often the common denominator,
because we have fired them in the same crucible.  When I say "we," I
am not blaming the US, at least not exclusively.  But we are the
800-pound gorilla, so we attract a lot of attention, in the same way
that Wal-Mart, Disney, and Microsoft attract attention.

Most Muslims are as peaceable as most Christians, which is pretty
amazing, all things considered.  Anne Coulter sure hasn't helped
matters, with her comment, "We should invade their countries, kill
their leaders and convert them to Christianity."
