[Vision2020] Tunnels

I know for a fact that Lewiston has these tunnels running between businesses along Main st.  Maybe Moscow was confused with those?  The indication and proof down there is evident when walking along the sidewalk between the furniture store and apartments on one side near The Liberty and you see the dark purple glass circles embedded in the ground.  These provide some light in the tunnel below.  

Then further down, toward Clarkston and on the other side just past where the Weisgerber fell, you'll also come along large square metal hinged covers.  Open'em up and discover a ladder.  These are one way in. 

I don't recall seeing anything like this in Moscow's sidewalks? 

Other places, like the Roxy theatre, had narrow brick paths in back with old metal doors and wooden stairs that went beneath the ground.  Around 1990 the Roxy still had some original seats & old ticket stubs and pieces of film up in the projector room that housed the original projector that was about the size of a Voltswagon.
