*Moscow Food Co-op Has Best Year Ever*

Moscow Food Co-op will end 2009 with its best financial performance
ever, according to Co-op general manager Kenna Eaton. Profit for 2009
will exceed $200,000, doubling the Co-op's previous best year. Sales at
the Co-op for 2009 will total approximately $7.2 million. The increased
profit resulted from increased staff efficiency, better cost control,
and strong support from customers.

Because of the strong sales performance, the Co-op was able to return
some of its profits to member-owners and to employees in December. The
Co-op distributed $10,000 to member-owners based on annual purchases.
The 500 member-owners with the largest total purchases received
appreciation coupons varying from $10 to $55, the first ever rebate to
members. More than $30,000 was also returned to employees in bonuses.
The Co-op currently has over 5,000 member-owners and 85 employees, both
are slight increases from last year.

Much of the profit will be retained by the Co-op for other uses. In the
summer of 2010, the Co-op will install a salad bar. The Co-op Board of
Directors will be considering saving money for future needs,
accelerating debt payments, and advancing strategic initiatives.
Improvements to the Wellness and Meat Departments are also being
considered for 2010.

The Co-op is located at 121 East Fifth Street in downtown Moscow. The
store is open every day from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm. Membership is not
required to shop at the Moscow Food Co-op.
