Just one last point, because I suspect you'll bring this up.

Yes, some of those vehicles (the Civic in particular) are also manufactured
outside the United States. However, there are substantial tax benefits (not
to mention logistical benefits) to manufacturing a vehicle in the country
it's to be sold in. For that reason, barring spare capacity being shipped
from other markets, the overwhelming majority of Civics sold in the United
States are produced either here (avoiding tariffs) or in Canada (avoiding
tariffs via NAFTA).
