The following U.S. service member died while supporting combat operations in Iraq, confirmed by the Defense Department from April 10, 2009 through April 16, 2009:
 
Marine Lance Cpl. Ray A. Spencer II, 20, of Ridgecrest, California; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

Killed: 1; wounded in action: 24
 
March 19, 2003 – April 16, 2009 
Killed: 4,264; wounded in action: 31,193

Army Cpl. Francisco X. Aguila, 35, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico; assigned to the 82nd Sustainment Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
 
Army PFC Richard A. Dewater, 21, of Topeka, Kansas; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
