Obama was appointed by the mayor of Chicago to serve on two boards of
directors with Bill Ayers. He was introduced by his political mentor
at a fundraiser held at his house. That's the extent of the
connection, and it's pretty weak sauce.

As opposed to John McCain's *actual* friendship with G. Gordon Liddy,
