[Vision2020] GITMO Detainees Can Challenge Detention

Roger,

How are Afghanistan and Iraq part of the same conflict?  At least in the former we can say that we were attacked by a group based in Afghanistan.  In Iraq we have an illegal invasion, an occupation, and efforts to get them to sell us oil on terms we like, different from those used in other states in that region.

The only time combatants should be released during the conflict would be a prisoner exchange.  Others prisoners should be tried. It depends on the circumstances, whether they should be tried by a civilian court, a miliary tribunal or under the Geneva Convention.
