FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

City of Moscow Hosts Idaho Meth Project Presentation

Moscow, Idaho - February 8, 2008-The Idaho Meth Project will give a
presentation about their project at Moscow City Hall, Council Chambers,
206 East Third Street at 4:00 p.m. on February 13, 2008.  Those
interested in learning more about the Idaho Meth Project are invited to
attend.

The Idaho Meth Project recently launched a statewide prevention campaign
aimed at significantly reducing first-time methamphetamine use in the
state of Idaho. They adopted the Meth Project's innovative
program-combining an aggressive, saturation-level media campaign with
community action programs-designed to prevent Meth use by raising
awareness of the dangers of the drug.

The program was first established two years ago in Montana and since its
inception in 2005, the Meth Project program in Montana has demonstrated
significant results in changing attitudes and behaviors toward Meth.
When the program launched, Montana ranked 5th among states for Meth
abuse; after two years, the state now ranks 39th. The Montana Meth
Project is credited with a 45% decline in teen Meth use in that state; a
70% decline in adult Meth use; a 53% decline in Meth-related crimes; and
a 50% decline in Meth-related foster care admissions.

Now Idaho has taken Montana's place at 5th in the nation for Meth abuse.
Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter said, "The Idaho Meth Project was brought to
our state by Idahoans who saw the tremendous burden Meth use has put on
our social service, law enforcement, and prison systems." This burden
includes statistics such as:

* 80% of the child placements by the Idaho Department of
Health and Welfare are directly related to drug abuse with
Methamphetamine being the most prevalent;

* 63% of Idaho felony drug court participants indicate that
Meth is their drug of choice;

* 52% of Idaho inmates directly attribute Meth use to their
incarceration;

* $66 million is the amount the state of Idaho spends annually
to house male inmates who admit to having a Meth problem.

The Idaho Meth Project campaign will reach 70% to 90% of teens
statewide, 3 to 5 times a week with hard-hitting television, radio, and
print advertising that graphically portrays the ravages of Meth use.
The Meth Project's research-based campaign has received more than 40
advertising industry awards for its effectiveness and has been cited by
the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy as a model for
the nation. The ads can be viewed at www.idahomethproject.org.
