Where did I say or imply that Canadians are not Americans? 

There are plenty of people in the United States AND Canada AND Mexico AND in everyone of the South and Central American countries that are anti-American. 

There are at least a 1/2 dozen right here on the V.

But just so you and others are not confused: 

The use of the word "American" inside the US means a US Citizen, outside the US it means everyone on the Western Hemisphere. So when used in proper context, it is OK. Used outside the proper context, it is offensive and exclusive. 

American may refer to:

1) A person, inhabitant, or attribute of the United States of America 
2) A person, an inhabitant, or attribute of the Americas, the lands and regions of the Western Hemisphere 
3) A person or attribute of the indigenous peoples of the Americas
