[Vision2020] Weather advisory

OK. so at the edge of Moscow Mountain (next to the Phillips Farm) , we had thunder and lightening, a bit of rain, some mediocre wind. We battened down the hatches, covering all the tender greens, the basil, and the tomatoes. Waste of energy, and lots of wet sheets!!! On the other hand, if we had not battened, I'd betcha we would have had three inch hail, lost the veg, and cursed ourselves in the morning!...I love the adrenaline rush of farming on the Palouse!!!

It was a lovely storm. Cooled things off nicely, and standing in the yard watching the lightening was a seasonal delight! Anyone want a bunch of basil---the storm (and bedsheets!) left it untouched! We have basil and garlic; you provide the olive oil, pinenuts, and parmesian cheese.

Odd summer indeed....

  The Nws Storm Prediction Center Has Issued A Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Portions Of 

  Parts Of The Idaho Panhandle Large Part Of Northeast Oregon Much Of Eastern Washington 

  Effective This Monday Afternoon And Evening From 405 PM Until 1100 PM PDT. 

  Hail To 2 Inches In Diameter... Thunderstorm Wind Gusts To 70 Mph... And Dangerous Lightning Are Possible In These Areas. 

  The Severe Thunderstorm Watch Area Is Approximately Along And 85 Statute Miles East And West Of A Line From 70 Miles Northeast Of Omak Washington To 65 Miles Southwest Of Baker Oregon. For A Complete Depiction Of The Watch See The Associated Watch Outline Update (wous64 Kwns Wou9). 

  Remember... A Severe Thunderstorm Watch Means Conditions Are Favorable For Severe Thunderstorms In And Close To The Watch Area. Severe Thunderstorms Can And Occasionally Do Produce Tornadoes.
