[Vision2020] Monday economic forum

Forum on Smart Economic Growth







The Moscow Civic Association is sponsoring a free public forum at Moscow's 1912 Center at 7pm on Monday, October 22, entitled Smart Economic Growth for a Prosperous Moscow. The forum will focus on attracting high-tech companies and high-paying jobs to Moscow.




A four-person panel will discuss the issues and then respond to questions from the audience. The panelists include:

*B.J. Swanson, vice president of AmericanWest Bank in Moscow and chair of the board of Gritman Medical Center, who will discuss redirecting our focus for economic development from housing and retail to the creation of well-paying jobs.

*Robin Woods, President of Alturas Analytics, who will discuss the business environment in Moscow and the advantages of locating a high-tech company in Moscow.

*Judy Brown, economist and director of the Idaho Center on Budget and Tax Policy, will discuss the factors that contribute to a healthy business climate.

*David Alexander, CEO of Ivus Industries, Inc., who will discuss the attractiveness of Moscow to a high-tech business, and why he brought his business to Moscow.




The Moscow Civic Association is a non-profit citizen's organization that strives to improve the quality of life for Moscow residents. The mission of the Moscow Civic Association is to inform community members about important local issues and encourage civic participation.
