We don't watch much TV. Of course, we can only get one PBS channel (our main TV viewing) and the Lewiston station, so it really doesn't matter. We get news from NPR, newspapers, and the internet. Still only dial-up available where we live, but we get a wide perspective of info from all over the world. Somehow, we manage just fine without cable or dish service,,,,and we get to read, play cards and board games, and have good conversations without all the media distraction and marketing. Renting movies once a week is plenty of TV screen viewing for us.

I don't watch TV on a TV. I find most of what I want to watch, online, for free. No ads at all, and most hour shows are 42 minutes long. It is really fun late at night to watch two or three episodes in a row. *smile*

Is it just me, or does anyone else get disturbed by those ads on TV that pop up during the show in the lower right hand corner?
It is bad enough we have to pay for TV that includes lots of commercials, now our programs are interrupted by a dancing dinosaur, or characters bouncing around in the corner of the screen. This is extremely distracting, and even sometimes blocks the screen from me seeing something important on the current program.
The worst ones are the ones that show lots of movement during an important part of the show. I was watching Eureka, a great show, IMHO, but I found virtually impossible to watch with a huge "GHOST HUNTERS" icon above the Sci Fi icon, which takes up about 1/10 of the screen.
Do other people complain about this annoying and disruptive graphics blocking and disrupting their programs?
Best,
Donovan
