[Vision2020] Faith and fireworks and the Moscow Chamber

Tom,

I don't think you are understanding how the Chamber works.

We are not as blatantly political as your questions suggest.

Rather, we are informational.

See this weeks upcoming Chamber Candidates Forum as an example. We could
choose to endorse (or not) specific candidates. We don't. Rather, we hold
an educational forum so that our members can come and find out first hand
about the candidates, then vote as they choose.

But, you may say, the Chamber hasn't done anything to educate their members
on this issue. Probably true. Please remember that I am new, and the
Chamber functioned without a director (or with an interim) for quite
awhile. In the future I would find something like this to be very suitable
for one of our lunch time business forums. Additionally, I'll note that
when taking a potentially controversial position the Chamber usually polls
its members to see where they stand. We are, after all, here to represent
our membership.

I'd also like to say that most of the business leaders I personally know are
VERY supportive of education. Anyone aware of my background can probably
guess how I feel about education, too.

Thanks for your questions.
Darrell
PS-Thanks for the kind words, Bruce.
