Paul Bauer, 62, was taken from us suddenly on May 19.

He was born March 29, 1945, in New York. Paul served in the Navy for many
years. In this time frame, he met and married his first wife, Karen, and had
five children. They later divorced. He came to Moscow many years ago and
decided to stay. He had many friends here, and no one had ever seen him
without a smile on his face or a joke to tell. Paul was the best friend and
confidant that anyone could ever have.

Paul met and married the love of his life, Bonnie, in the mid-'80s. They
were inseparable until her death four years ago. He never quite got over her
death. He spoke of her fondly all the time.

Paul always took pride in what he did and how he did it. He was always there
in an instant if you needed him, no matter where you were. His life was cut
short - he had many more things to do, places to go, and so much more to
give all.

He is survived by five children, who all live in the Washington area, and
his longtime companion, his dog Copper. He was preceded in death by his
wives Karen and Bonnie, and beloved pet Conan. We'll think of the wonderful
memories we will hold in our hearts for you, until we see you again. We love
you and miss you so very much.

There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the
Presbyterian Church.
