[Vision2020] Our Troops

You know, Pat, I saw at least two of these photos in the mainstream media some time ago, even though the ignorant wag who wrote the captions would have us believe differently, and it moved me to believe our service personnel deserve better than we are giving them today.  I'm not talking about time and funds either.  I'm talking about their right to be home with family before they die in the desert or are forced to return for a second, third, or even fourth tour in a war that will never be resolved through their deaths or the deaths of the children so touchingly shown in the pictures below.  I wonder how many of the soldiers and the kids they befriended are alive today.  I wonder how, if they are wounded in this war, will we in America care for them in medical facilities that crumble because of our government's insistence on privitizing its responsibilities.  I wonder when, if they should be killed, our President will view the blood on his hands from sons and daughters he never knew, and say, "enough."  I wonder why we continue to support egomaniacs hellbent on the pursuit of policy that even their military strategists and diplomats tell them is wrong.  

Intersting that in his own inarticulate fashion, our current president so tellingly insisted, "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we.  They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
