Also it is worth checking where their funding source is. On one side it may be the government or a a group with a left wing agenda. On the other it may be a company with a financial stake. I think that this is relevant.

There are many respected scientists that dispute modern understandings
of global warming. The problem is that there are no respected
climatologists that do. A Ph.D in a physical science is not an unbound
certificate of credibility when you hold forth on areas of science you
know absolutely nothing about.
