City to begin flushing fire hydrants Sunday
The city of Moscow water department will begin flushing fire hydrants Sunday
and continue through Thursday. Flushing operations will take place between
10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Crews will be crews moving throughout city neighborhoods with vehicles and
flashing lights, and residents who need to contact the flushing crew
directly can call the Whitcom dispatch center at (509) 332-2521.
Thorough flushing of the water system, designed to improve water quality,
removes sediments that can cause water to become red and dirty.
Residents who experience water discoloration are urged to run cold water for
10 minutes or until it becomes clear. Those whose water remains dirty are
asked to call the water department at (208) 882-3122."
