Oh... You mean the opposition to Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori as the
head of the American branch of the Episcopal church might have something to
do with sexism, with blocking women from positions of power in the world?
Amazing!  I thought we had advanced beyond this prejudicial and primitive
stage of cultural development decades ago.

I listened and watched as she was being interviewed recently on satellite
news.  She earned a BS in Biology from Stanford, an MS in Oceanography from
Oregon State University, going on to gain a PhD. at Oregon.  This background
perhaps explain in part why during her interview she spoke with such clarity
about finding God in Nature, an approach to spirituality I think is
absolutely critical during this challenging time in human history, when
sustainability in living with the natural world, and respect for Nature an
end in itself, is essential for human well being, perhaps even our very
survival as a species, as we reform the biosphere in the unprecedented
global technological and population explosion of our species.
