keely et. al.<br><br>Oh... You mean the opposition to Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori as the head of the American branch of the Episcopal church might have something to do with sexism, with blocking women from positions of power in the world? Amazing! I thought we had advanced beyond this prejudicial and primitive stage of cultural development decades ago.

She earned a BS in Biology from Stanford, an MS in Oceanography from Oregon State University, going on to gain a PhD. at Oregon. This background perhaps explain in part why during her interview she spoke with such clarity about finding God in Nature, an approach to spirituality I think is absolutely critical during this challenging time in human history, when sustainability in living with the natural world, and respect for Nature an end in itself, is essential for human well being, perhaps even our very survival as a species, as we reform the biosphere in the unprecedented global technological and population explosion of our species.

Yes, that's what my "apologies to . . . " thing was for -- when the subject is "women," it seemed to capture what I'd want to say to those among us who dismiss women, defend sexism, and decry anything that seeks to diminish their hold on the world.
<br><br>If, you know, there were anyone like that. I'm just sayin' . . . <span class="q"><br><br>keely<br><br><span style="font-style: italic;">"And these women that you spit on as they try to change their worlds/
