There are several things you may want to look in to. The easiest would be to use Roundup. It would kill everything. You could start overer from there. This may be one of those hash chemicals  you were referring to. Your local Agricultural Extension office should have some information on other methods. For natural remedies check out jerrybaker.com.  I believe he used viinegar for a lot of things.
