Headline was misleading

The Daily News front page headline, July 25, "School board won't negotiate,"
unfairly paints the Moscow School District as the bad guys in the fiasco
lawsuit brought by Gerald Weitz and his grumpy cohorts from the Greater
Moscow Alliance. That headline implies by rejecting "conciliation" and
"negotiation," the school administration is responsible for this upcoming
train wreck of huge attorney fees, cancelled school programs and angry
patrons.

A more accurate and objective headline would be "School board won't overturn
levy election." The board rightly decided in this case, negotiation would
mean agreeing to be blackmailed by a disgruntled few, instead of following
the will of the district patrons who voted in favor of the levy in the last
election.

With Don Harter and Roger Falen in his corner, Dr. Weitz is certain not to
go down as a . . .

"Lonesome Loser"

"Sit down, take a look at yourself
Don't you want to be somebody
Someday somebody's gonna see inside
You have to face up, you can't run and hide

Have you heard about the lonesome loser
Beaten by the queen of hearts every time
Have you heard about the lonesome loser
He's a loser, but he still keeps on tryin'."

Seeya round town, Moscow.

private schools like Logos prosper through tax exemption."
