[Vision2020] learning for the young

I can tell you what I learned in 1960 Fort Benning. Jim Crow laws were
still in effect and I found out about a set of rules that I could not
follow...wonder I wasn't lynched! I didn't even know how much I could
dislike big bugs...I mean 3 inch jobs that fly like birds. And then there
was humidity...if this kid or any others training there right now need
prayer for anything it is dealing with the humidity!! I also learned an
appreciation for the might of America and its fighting force that even
John Wayne movies hadn't been able to give me. The Cuban missle crisis
came up while there and all that equipment that was stored in sheds came
out. My trip to the base to leave my husband for a week while it was
decided if he was shipping out was astonishing! So many tanks! So many BIG
guns! I was so surprised! And obviously very young but I learned so much
about me and life. By the way, that week that he was on base and I was
waiting in town with a new baby and Kennedy and his pals played war games
is another story.

all about the
"danger" and the "physical aggression." In what way do the pieces of paper
that you refer
to make the event different, more feminine? Does the notion of men
getting together
to have a bit of fun with other men leave you feeling uncomfortable? Or is
it really more
about the who then anything having to do with the what?</FONT></DIV>

happened under the
tutelage of a retired professional boxer, that ABA approved headgear was
worn by all
participants, that absolutely no one was seriously injured (one punch was
expertly
blocked by the nose of one of the warriors but he lived to tell the tale
and
more importantly learned a valuable lesson in keeping his gloves up
and his chin down.) and that a good time was had by all. With all this in
mind, what
place is it of yours to piss on someone else's parade?</FONT></DIV>
