[Vision2020] Conciliation Petition

Sue absolutely nails it, particularly in Point 6 -- the fact is, the permanent levy established by the legislature, not by MSD, in the mid-90s is a PERMANENT levy (permanent, just like your cemetery tax, etc.), and it is only an INCREASE to the PERMANENT SUPPLEMENTAL LEVY that requires a vote. The ballot measure notes that there is a current permanent levy and asks only, as law requires, that the voters affirm or deny an INCREASE to that permanent levy. Keep preachin' it, Sue. The suit boils down to a few seemingly clear legal points and one absolutely clear civic point: government by election is good; government by tantrum is a disaster. What we have angling for position here is the latter, and I trust the judge to rule correctly.keely"And these women that you spit on as they try to change their worlds/Are immune to your consultations . . . they're quite aware of what they're going through"(With apologies to David Bowie)> From: suehovey at moscow.com> To: lfalen at turbonet.com; vision2020 at moscow.com> Date: Wed, 11 Jul 2007 17:44:11 -0700> Subject: Re: [Vision2020] Conciliation Petition> > If I were going to sign any petition I would want it to be a win for > students.
