I don't know everyone on the Moscow School District Committee for Goodwill and Conciliation but I do know who two of them are and they don't even live in the Moscow School District. Maybe Gary still owns some rental property in Moscow, I don't know for sure. What about the others? Can you tell us something about the others? I am not signing anything drafted by people I know nothing about. I believe that, now, this suit needs to be decided on so that there is definitive case law on the books and then the Legislature can act accordingly. I believe it was Bruce Livingston who suggested a while back that the suit may be a good thing for this reason. I hadn't thought of it that way until then. Thanks Bruce!

Here is a petition available at four locations for people to sign if they would like to see this resolved asap. Lets not drag this out threw the court system and waste considerable time and money.

Conciliation Petition

The Conciliation Petition, written by the Moscow School District Committee
for Goodwill and Conciliation, is available for signing at the following
Moscow locations.

. Southside Chevron, Troy Road & Washington

            . Moscow Public Library, 110 S. Jefferson

            . Tri-State, 1104 Pullman Road

. Stinker Station, 1044 Pullman Road

Following is an excerpt from the attached Petition:

"We, the undersigned, strongly urge the Moscow School District
(MSD) Board of Trustees & Dr. Gerald Weitz to accept the "win-win"
conciliation proposal described in this petition. MSD and Weitz immediately
should initiate a conciliation compromise by entering into a binding legal
agreement whereby Dr. Weitz will drop his lawsuit. In turn, the Board must
agree to re-run the contested indefinite levy as an ordinary maintenance and
operations levy. Such a conciliation compromise would leave intact the 2007
- 2008 MSD budget submitted to the State Department of Education on June
27."

The members of the MSD Committee for Goodwill and Conciliation are Roger
Falen (208-285-1116), Gary Young (208-686-1058), Isabel Bond (208-882-7499),
Dortha Hedrick (208-882-6865), Don Harter, Certified Professional Mediator
