[Vision2020] Selling Latah Health Services

My concern is that the property is a wonderful location for
development. That is a two edged sword.
Side one: the county sells to Gritman for $1. At some time in the
future, despite Gritman's best current intentions, circumstances make
sale of the property to a private developer in their best interest.
The county (i.e. each of us taxpayers) will have given away something
that could have provided money for other uses (perhaps buying land
for a new fairgrounds).
Side two: the county decides not to sell to Gritman, instead taking
the biggest offer (which will probably be far less than market
value). The building is torn down and the site developed. We, the
people, lose a place that has more than monetary value.
I'd feel more comfortable with this deal if there is a written
contract or something in the deed that addressed potential sale of
the property to the private sector.
