Entrepreneurs are the main source of innovation in
Idaho and create 70 to 80 percent of all the new jobs
in the state.

Between Feb. 23 and March 5 two Idaho Commerce & Labor
local offices will serve as locations for a series of
11 workshops presented around the state by the Idaho
Small Business Development Center and the USDA Rural
Development Idaho office. These workshops--held mainly
in rural communities--are part of a nationwide event
coordinated by the Kauffman Foundation and will focus
on ways to recognize and support entrepreneurs.

Workshops will vary from community to community and
cover topics such as starting a business, the basics
of eBay, reaching profit margins, tax considerations
for hiring employees and marketing specialty foods.

Entrepreneurship came up as an issue for further
discussion at the Joint Advisory Council meeting in
January and Commerce & Labor Director Roger Madsen
publicly thanks Jim Hogge and Mike Field for arranging
this series of workshops. The workshop schedule is as
follows. Sessions are free unless otherwise indicated.
