[Vision2020] The Bible and the Qur'an

Sorry, Pat, but you're not correct here. The Islamic religion is
based on both the Hebrew Bible and the Greek New Testament. Plus new
revelations that Muhammad received from God. Islam does not accept
the official Catholic Xian idea of the Trinity. Nor do some Xians.
But Muslims often refer to Xians and Jews as "people of the Book,"
meaning the Bible.

You probably know that the Hebrew and Arabic languages are both
members of the Semitic group. Shalom in Hebrew and Salaam in Arabic
both mean "peace." El is one of the Hebrew names of God, just as
Allah is the Arabic form.

Muslims claim now in 2007 that they have the same god as the Jews or
Christians But they did not start out that way. It is a new claim to
make themselves more acceptable in current time and to add confusion
to the subject. Few Christian denominations agree with the idea
however so they can claim it but that does not make it true.
