I'd just like to add that anyone who wishes to who hasn't yet deleted 
the original message can look at the headers and see that there are no 
uidaho.edu servers involved, or any IP addresses starting with 129.101 
(which indicates the subnet that the University owns).

I would recommend using a non uidaho.edu address for this kind of thing, 
though, since an email from a uidaho.edu address could be misidentified 
as an official communication from the U of I.  I got burned by that one 
time in the early 90's, when I was using my uidaho.edu email address in 
some usenet postings.  Since then, I've learned to keep a distinct line 
between work emails and home emails.  I don't check my personal email at 
work, and I rarely check my work email at home.

I don't know if the UI has an official policy on using the email address 
itself, as opposed to State-owned hardware or software, but I wouldn't 
be surprised if there was one.  If you are accessing your uidaho.edu 
account from home and using TurboNet's smtp server to send email, then 
you are still using storage space on UI owned hardware for your incoming 
email.
