[Vision2020] Craig's official statement

Rev. Keely,
US Senators, Congressman and other power players on the hill everyday solicit young men and women for sex. The President even got a hummer under his desk in the Oval office. Senator Kennedy killed a girl, and many interns sleep with their bosses. Even Helen Chenoweth had an affair. I didn't see them being ousted. And what Clinton did is far worse than playing footsie with the guy in the stall next to you in.
One standard for straight men, another standard for gay men. Anyone with a clear head knows that Craig is being called out because he is Gay in Idaho, nothing else. Craig being a hypocrite, which he has been long ago and for other reasons than this, and his confusion about what to label his sexuality is irrelevant. Others have labeled him Gay, and that is why all the Republicans are calling for his dismissal from office, NO Known GAYS ALLOWED in the Senate is the rule.
I agree, Craig deserves to lose his seat, but NOT for being Gay, and that is the reason he is being attacked, not because he is a pompous hypocritical ass which he has been for a long time.

I believe that his behavior -- anonymous sex with strangers -- would result in his resignation if it were a woman he was charged with soliciting. I agree that Idaho is rife with homophobia, but even the most liberal jurisdictions tend to frown on senators who troll for quickie sex in bathrooms.
One doesn't need to be a "Reverend" to see that. Good thing, because I'm not.

Rev. Keely,
He is being removed for being Gay. He is not the only Senator that is a hypocrite, an adulator,or influence peddler. He is the only Senator that is labeled gay, and those things. And he is being removed. If a guy is gay and a hypocrite, he gets removed from office, but if he is straight and a hypocrite then he gets to stay. You are singling out Craig for similar crimes as everyone else, but making him pay because he has the added sin that he is gay. That is discrimination, and you know it. If Craig was caught cheating with a woman in a public restroom we would not be having this conversation, and it would not be on the news like it is today, and you know it.
Second, I don't think Craig is a hypocrite. Maybe an ass, an egotistical ass, that is often on the wrong side of social issues. But, even if he is gay, which he likely is not, by the definition that would assign being gay, someone that exclusively likes men sexually, he can still believe that Gay marriage is wrong. Many people that are married engage in homosexual behavior regret it, and think it is wrong. They think they have fallen to sin, not that they are gay. They think they are sinners, not homosexuals.

Being gay, Donovan, is not the same as being a hypocrite, adulterer, or influence-peddler. Those are the reasons Craig will be gone, and they are as true as they are sad. Surely you wouldn't suggest that all homosexual men are like Craig?

Hansen,
Arguing with you is like arguing with a brick wall because you are too dense to realize that Craig is being axed for being GAY, not for being a conservative. That injustice sits well with you because you are too bigoted to see the truth.
Who is the activist? Certainly not you, you are rejoicing in the removal of a man from his job because he is Gay. You rejoice in the damage Idaho will receive in the lost revenue and political clout Craig brought to Idaho. And not more than a few weeks ago, Gary Crabtree just pointed out you poking fun at somebody for exhibiting what you construed as gay behavior. A few months ago you were making fun of the disabled people that are given jobs as Wal-Mart, and three years ago you were supported the entrance of troops to die needlessly half-way across the planet in a pointless and endless war.
When the rubber hits the road, you are always on the wrong side of everything. You try to claim the credit of others works, after the battle is won, you come out and decide what side you are on.

You stated that a gay person COULD NOT get a job, let alone run for political office, simply because they are gay. You did not stipulate Idaho.
I simply provided one (Barney Frank) of many examples where you are wrong.
You stated:
If a Black Conservative was going to get axed because he was Black, would you sit back and support it because he was conservative?
NO! And I take this comment very seriously, Arnold.
During the course of my 20-year Army career I have put my stripes on the company/battalion commanders desk several times in defense of subordinates (and peers) whose philosophies I did not agree with. I did so simply because I felt in my heart of hearts they were being wronged. I AM NOT a sellout, Arnold, willing give up my ethics to the highest bidder.
Above all else, I value a person by their word. You say what you mean and you mean what you say.
I remember you, Arnold, claiming to be a liberal activist right here on the Viz. You have sold out, Arnold, quicker than two-bit hooker at an Acme convention. The only two things you are missing are a street lamp and a price tag.

That is Massachusetts, I don't think that is Idaho. And he isn't a Senator, and he isn't high ranked.
You are saying a gay guy who wants to be active in politics needs to go to Massachusetts, right? Get real.
Tom Hansen is just fine with forcing gay people out of office if they don't agree with him? Republicans are about to axe a man from his Senate position because he is gay. But Hansen is fine with that discrimination because the guy is conservative.
If a Black Conservative was going to get axed because he was Black, would you sit back and support it because he was conservative?
Who is a hypocrite is Tom Hansen, who doesn't understand that guy who gets his ass kicked everyday, and his family members too, for being out has little choice. I really do doubt, that if Tom Hansen had his family members threatened and losing their jobs because of his sexuality he would publicly be out with it too. But then again, maybe people attacking and harassing him and his family members wouldn't bother him.

I beg to differ with you, Arnold.
Congressman Barney Frank (Fourth District, Massachusetts) is openly gay and has been active in politics since 1968.

The term Gay Republican Hypocrite used to be considered a series of contradictions. It has since evolved into a regular headline.
