Canyon County residents can expect tax bills to drop next year

Canyon County residents can expect a decrease in their county taxes next
year due to more than a $2 billion increase in the county's tax base,
officials said Wednesday. 

Commissioners signed off on a tentative budget Wednesday that should
lower the levy rate by at least 10 percent, said Chris Harris, chief
deputy clerk, even though the county's budget grew by nearly $17 million
to $83.2 million.
