Note to Arnold: Here's another one of them uppity lieutenant colonels
blasting away at his superiors. His name is Eric Newhouse. Sic him, Arnie.

Kabul case smells rotten
Something definitely is fishy about the case against Lt. Cols. Gary Brown
and Christopher Hall ["Officers rebuked for Kabul clash," April 16]. They
pull their guns in a war zone to protect themselves in a potentially violent
incident, and they end up getting fragged by their own service. There are
allegations of bribing witnesses, falsifying legal documents and forging a
videotape of the incident in an effort to secure a conviction against two
distinguished officers.
The larger issue is the example this sets for all Air Force members. Is the
Air Force going to issue a lawyer to everyone who gets sent to Central
Command's area of responsibility? Will this lawyer advise service members
when they can pull their guns, aim them and fire? Why would any Air Force
member volunteer to serve in the AOR if this is the support he can expect to
receive from his superior officers? Unless there's more to the story than
has been reported, the Air Force owes these officers an apology and a
commendation.
