I have to share with the group....
As I've said before, my family is multi-cultural and multi-racial.
I'm the whitest in the bunch.
And one of my nicknames.... (and it's not said in a mean way, but could be)
is Vanilla-face.
Oh well
Bev

If your point was in the first place valid, you have by
now made it. And made it, etc.
As many on V2020 have pointed out, there is a
difference between "in-group" use of a term and the use
of the same term in public -- applying it to someone in
the group -- by somebody who is not a member of the group.
If African Americans came up with a despicable slang
term for Whites and called one of them that, then THAT
would be parallel to Whites calling an African American
something offensive. ("Honky" doesn't seem all that
bad. I guess it's difficult to come up with despicable
terms for people in the majority.)
(Well, maybe not. How 'bout "arrogant" and "ignorant"
to describe our government's approach to the rest of
the world? No, those aren't despicable terms; they're
fairly reasonable descriptive terms.)
