Thanks for pointing out my faulty gramma Ralph.  And kind of you too for 
doing so offlist.  Yes, the proper term would have been: Toe to (the 
prevailing wisdom) rather than "tow."

I promise to toe to proper gramma in the future so as to not uncure your 
rath.
