BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Police declare homicide as cause of UI student's death

Moscow Police Chief Dan Weaver has declared homicide as the cause of death of a 21-year-old University of Idaho student who was found dead in his apartment early Saturday.

He also said police have no suspects at this time.

The victim has been identified as David Robert Boss, a senior at UI who is originally from Boise. The apparent cause of death was a single gun shot to the head inside an apartment at 1218 South Main St.

The victim was discovered when his roommate returned from a night out about 1:45 a.m. Duke said the roommate found the victim on the floor in the kitchen and called 911.

Boss was declared dead at the scene.

Duke said Boss was last seen alive at 8:30 p.m. Friday by the roommate. Two people who live in an apartment above the victim's reportedly told police they heard a "thump" between midnight and 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
