[Vision2020] Classical Liberalism

Nick, Ted and Tony have been debating the definitions and common usage of liberalism and socialism. Nick gave the definitions which are correct. The common usage of these terms have changed. I think that the philosophy of John Stuart Mill and the conservatism of Barry Goldwater represent Classical Liberalism. I align myself with this philosophy. Socialism does not work. Nether does an unfettered free market system. The free market system with some restraints is the best system ever devised.The restraints put in place by Teddy Roosevelt and the original labor movement embodied by Samual Gompers were very necessary. Even though he was a socialist I also have a great deal of respect for Eugene V. Debbs. While normally being against overburdening government restrictions, I think more restrictions should be placed on the Health Food Industry in reguard to advertizing. Testimonials don't cut it.
