The City’s revision of the subdivision code is coming back onto the
table. So far, it has been based on the existing code. This is good
time to consider encoding a new and different approach to guiding
growth. It might mean scrapping the existing subdivision code and
rethinking how we design new developments (residential, commerical,
industrial, and mixed) to fit into what we have.
Perhaps we could hold some informal workshops or use the process New
Cities brought to draft a new subdivision code that would work better
than the disconnected approach we now have.
